Swimming with William

One of the many activities we did while in Wichita Falls was go swimming (I use that word loosely) in SuSu and GB's pool. My son has NO fear of the water...which is good and bad! He is very hard to hold because he is constantly moving and splashing. He loves to get out and jump in the pool...the problem with this is that you let him out and he runs away from you and then tries to jump in! When swimming with William you must have an adult on the side of the pool to chase him. I was exhausted after my adventure with William....my Dad was crazy enough to take him swimming twice!
Splash, Splash, Splash!!!
No really...I can swim by myself GB!

My Worst Nightmare Come True!

Today we ventured out to the grocery store with SuSu...what an adventure that was! As we were walking to the store my Mom said let's get one of the carts that looks like a car...of course I was completely disgusted and said NO. I think grocery store carts in general are gross but the "car" carts are infested with who knows how many kiddie germs. Well....William must have sensed what we were talking about and he RUNS (almost taking out another shopper) straight for the car cart and climbs in! My Mom, of course, thinks this is so funny and I am just about to die! William spends the rest of the time in the store "driving" the cart and saying hello to everyone that passes by. I...on the other hand..am trying not to think about all of the diseases he has come in contact with! Actually, I have never seen William so well behaved in the grocery store...ever...except maybe when he was four months old and slept the whole time. The second I got him in his car seat I wiped him down with wet ones and prayed that he doesn't have a communicable disease! I guess we will know in a few days!

On the Road Again....

Well I haven't be able to update our blog because the Morgan Family has been traveling! Last weekend we were in Houston for Will's 20 year high school reunion...yes we are that old! Will had a great time catching up with friends he hasn't seen in years. He went out Friday night (I opted out of this adventure) and Saturday night was the big party. I met his prom date...cute girl and some of the other people he ran around with...and got in trouble with! William will NEVER hear any of the stories about his dad's high school days. As far as William will ever know...both of his parents were perfect (still are) and never did anything wrong (still don't).

Nena and Papa were so excited to see William. Papa had recovered from watching William the week before and was ready to play. They played chase around the house, walked up and down the block outside and ate ice cream. William was in heaven! We were sad to leave but we will see them again soon!

We came home on Sunday...I did laundry...added a few more clothes to our bags...packed Will's suitcase and we were all off again on Monday morning. Will is up in Redmond for a few days so William and I headed to Wichita Falls to visit SuSu and GB. My husband had the audacity to call us and let us know it was 65 degrees in Redmond!! We are no longer taking his phone calls!

William is having a great time running around the house...talking to the birds (my parents have two African grey parrots)...and swimming with GB (video will be added once I get home).

Once we get home William is going to have to go through detox after visiting both sets of grandparents! He is rotten! GB fed him chips and pie for lunch today! Ugh!!!! What is a mother to do?!?!

The Philbin Boys babysit William

Yesterday morning my dear friend Holly and her three boys, Charlie, Luke and Mark babysat William. He had a great time playing with the big boys...they took such great care of my little guy! He ate lunch with them and Charlie shared red goldfish with William so now those are his favorite! The Philbins have a dog named Lucky that William loved....he also loved sharing his lunch with her too! When I arrived to pick William up I was expecting him to run into my arms and give me a big hug...but that didn't happen...he was too busy playing with his buddies! Thank you all for babysitting! We love you!!

Like Mother...Like Son

Ok....I know William is my son...he loves to talk on the phone! In fact, tonight he called the Schroeder house looking for his buddy William. Thankfully it was their phone number on redial!

Just a Swingin'

Saturday morning we met Amy and William Schroeder at the playground by the library. The boys had a great time sliding down the slides as well as climbing up the slides. William S. made a few calls on my cell phone...he had important business to conduct. But the highlight of the morning was swinging on the swings like big boys! It was very cute! Our William did not want to get off the swing!

William and Papa

While Will and I traveled to Arkansas last week for my Uncle Dick's funeral, William stayed in Dallas and played with Papa (Will's Dad). They had a great time together. The first night we were gone William told Papa..."toaster" and "waffle" so of course Papa fixed him waffles! We were glad that William ate something! They were outside one day when the bulk trash truck came by and they followed the truck until it was full... and then William was ready to come home. Papa is a trooper!! They read many books, went on long walks and ventured out for yogurt. Papa was ready to go home and rest when we returned from Arkansas.....William kept him busy! Thank you for staying with our little man!!

A Very Sad Day

My Uncle Dick passed away this morning at his home in Arkansas. His sweet wife, Annette and my Uncle Don (Dad's younger brother) were with him when he died.

Please continue to pray for my family this week. We all knew this day was coming but it doesn't make it any easier once it arrives. We all miss him terribly. Please pray for Annette and Dick's three children as they struggle with this great loss. Please pray for my sweet Dad...he lost a brother and best friend. Please pray for my grandparents because no parent should have to bury their child.

Thank you...

While the Big Boys are Away...

the little ones will play! While their dads were playing golf in the unbearable Texas heat, the Williams (Schroeder and Morgan that is) were keeping cool in the splash pool at the Schroeder's house. William Schroeder was having a great time turning the water on and off...while William Morgan was splashing and sliding down the slide. Of course they both loved playing on the deck and getting into everything they shouldn't....grill tools, tiki torches and bug spray. What little boy doesn't love to use tiki torches as a sword? Amy fixed us a great lunch...which all of us enjoyed except for my William...who has decided that he doesn't need to eat. We had a GREAT time....thank you so much for having us over!

Spring Cleaning = New Toys for William

Earlier this week my dear friend Holly called to say that she was cleaning up the playroom and found some fun stuff for William...of course I said bring it over.

So...with the help of her sons, Charlie and Luke, Holly delivered a ton of stuff to my house. I am not sure yet if I should thank her....some of the toys make all kinds of fun sounds and noises. I have heard Big Bird and Elmo sing the alphabet more times than I care to count.

William played with everything the day it arrived. I had toy trucks, puzzle pieces, superheros and books all over the house. Holly also brought some shoes...William tried on every pair!! He really liked the rubber boots!

Thank you Charlie, Luke and Mark for sharing your toys with William!!

Ready to go....

If you tell William you are going "bye-bye"...you better be ready to go that instant. As soon as I say the words he heads for the back door, grabs my car keys, my sunglasses and is ready to go...immediately.

C'mon Mom....let's go!!!

This Week...18 Month Check-up

William is making up for his lack of sleep over the 4th of July weekend...yeah! He has been taking great naps all week....which has been great for me!

William had his 18 month check-up on Tuesday and everything went well. He is perfect...which we all knew. He is about 33 1/2 inches tall and weighs 27 lbs. 12 oz. He is a big boy!! William had to get one shot but he did get a very cool camo bandaid...so that made everything better. After his appointment we went to visit Big Mama because she (and her caregiver, Alicia) were going to babysit while I went to the doctor. Big Mama pushed him around on her walker and he ran up and down the halls. He was worn out when I came to pick him up. Another great nap for mom that day!!

Happy 4th of July

We spent the 4th of July at High Point with my parents, my brother and his family and the Herdmans. We had a fun filled weekend chasing children (two three year olds, an 18 month old, a 13 month old and a 7 month old) and visiting. The kids did not stop (except for naps) the entire weekend. I don't think William ate more than a bite of cheese and occasionally a yogurt the whole weekend. He was afraid he was going to miss something. William had a blast riding the tractor with GB, the four-wheeler with his Dad and sliding down the slide numerous times! My parents bought an inflatable pool and all of the kids loved playing in the water. It was a huge hit with everyone! My brother and Chase showed off their pyrotechnic skills both Friday and Saturday night. We are looking forward to even more fireworks next year! Below are a few pictures from our fun weekend.
